Poster for Zurich
Filmpodium
"Shakespeare's
Cinema"
"Shakespeare's Cinema" was the
title of a cycle of films based on the subject of:
"Hamlet","Othello" and "The Tempest". That program
took place in the Zurich Film podium, which is a
non profit cinema and runs by the Zurich Department
of Culture. In this poster I tried to melt together
theater and cinema by melting together temporary
type and a historical Picture to one Image. Melting
point is the relief. The relief of a very common
display system (white plastic letters you can push
in a grooved black rubber mat) and the relief of a
Russian icon from Fereferov Alexei Makarovich,1796.
The poster is printed by Albin Uldry, silkscreen, 2
colors - silver and black, 90,5 x 128cm.
