Koichi Sato


Koichi Sato
Born in Takasaki City, Gunma prefecture 1944. Graduated from Design dep. of Tokyo National university of Fine Arts and Music in 1969. In 1971, Working freelance after working for the advertising div. of Shiseido co.,Ltd. Since 1970's, he pursues possibilities to express today's Japanese Style. His awards includes Mainichi Design Award in 1991, Education Minister's Art Encouragement Prize for freshman in 1998, and on the international stage, 1st prize at the Poster competition sponsored by MoMA in, and awarded at many int'l poster competition such as in Bruno, Lahti, Helsinki,Warsaw, Essen, Moscow, Hong-Kong and Toyoma. His work represented in about 20 museums in the world. Professor at Tama Art Univ. since 1995. Member of JAGDA, AGI, Japan design committee, Tokyo ADC and Tokyo TDC.
